“Textured finishes” – e.g. “Plasters” or “Textured Coatings” are coatings for interior and exterior walls which are usually applied in several layers and in high thicknesses (several millimeters). The coating is put on for the purpose of smoothing or decoration and, in the case of outdoor applications, for protecting the underlying layers against moisture.

Surface textures:

The diversity of surface effects achievable with synthetic resin plasters is determined on the one hand by the particle size distribution and on the other hand by the method of application. The following types are known:

• Brushable finish
• Roller-applied finish
• Sprayed finish
• Scraped finish
• Trowelled finish
• Coarse (“Tyrolean”) finish
• Modeling finish
• Coloured aggregate finish
